Long trestle table
1900 × 900 × 740 mm. Seats eight, ten at a squeeze.
Four-board top, breadboard ends, drawbored trestles that come apart with two wedges for the stairs.

460 mm seat height. 380 × 280 mm seat.
Staked legs at 12 degrees, wedged through the seat. Stacks two high against a wall.

Dovetail chest
900 × 480 × 500 mm. Lid on a wooden hinge batten.
Through dovetails at all four corners, cut by hand. Cedar-lined floor if you want it for blankets.

Ledger shelf
1200 × 240 mm. 32 mm thick, brackets tapered to 14 mm.
Housed brackets, no visible fixings, French cleat behind. Holds a full run of records.

Low bench
1100 × 350 × 430 mm. Fits under most hall windows.
One-board seat where the stock allows, wedged through tenons, feet chamfered so it slides on tile.

Built to your measurements at no extra charge when the change is under 200 mm in any direction. Past that we re-cut the list and quote again.
Where the wood comes from
Every piece leaves with a provenance line: species, where the log was felled, who milled it, how long it sat in stick. If we cannot tell you that about a board, we do not buy the board.
Ash
Springy, pale, takes a wedge without splitting. Our default for stools and bench seats. [set species/source]
Oak
Rift-sawn for table tops so the movement stays predictable across 900 mm. [set species/source]
Cherry
Darkens for about two years, then holds. We finish it light on purpose. [set species/source]
Walnut
Kept for chests and shelf brackets, where 32 mm of it earns the cost. [set species/source]
Moisture read at 8 to 10 percent before any joint is cut. The meter reading goes on the provenance line too.

A dimensioned drawing, a cut list, a fixed price, and the boards we would use. No charge for this.

Milled, cut, dry-fitted, glued, finished. You get two photographs: dry fit, and first coat.

Commissions start at [set your floor price] for a stool and run to [set your ceiling] for a full dining table in figured stock. The quote is fixed before a board is cut, and it includes finish, delivery inside [set your radius], and the provenance card.

Two benches run at once, so the queue is short but real: [set your current queue]. Drawing and quoting happen straight away. If you need a piece by a date, say the date on the sheet and we will tell you yes or no rather than hope.

Yes, and it is the usual reason people write. Under 200 mm in any direction costs nothing extra. Beyond that the cut list changes enough that we re-quote. Height is the one we push back on: 740 mm for dining, 460 mm for seats, for good reasons we will explain.

Hardwax oil, three coats, cut back between each. It marks and it mends, which is the point: a ring or a scratch comes out with 320 grit and a rub of the tin we leave with you. If you want a film finish that cannot be repaired at home, we will say so and do it anyway.

Wood moves; that is designed for. If a joint opens, bring it back or send a photograph and we fix it at the bench at no cost for [set your guarantee period]. After that we still fix it, at [set your hourly rate].
